Message from the Chief: A Year of Growth and Momentum in Pabineau
2026 has been a booming year here in Pabineau as we continue working to advance our community, strengthen our economy, and create new opportunities for our members.
Chief and Council have been hard at work across our various portfolios to keep Pabineau moving forward. We have also welcomed new staff into a variety of roles as our team continues to grow.
We know that Pabineau cannot advance through the work of any one person. Our progress comes from working together as a team, listening to our community, and building toward a shared vision for our future.
Community Safety & Engagement
As we move forward, there are several important issues that will require engagement with our community.
Chief and Council will be looking to members for their input and approval as we work on matters involving bylaws and security measures aimed at making Pabineau a safer place for everyone.
Community participation will be an important part of this process, and we look forward to sharing more information as these initiatives progress.
Building Our Economy
On the economic development side, we continue to advance projects throughout our region while working to ensure that Pabineau has a meaningful place at the table.
Our focus remains on securing equity participation, employment opportunities, and contracting opportunities that create lasting benefits for our community.
Our team is also continuing work toward the development of an economic development corporation. The goal is to create greater separation between politics and business while providing another layer of transparency and accountability as Pabineau's economic interests continue to grow.
We have already seen tremendous growth within our community, and our vision is to continue down this road toward greater opportunity, prosperity, and a strong future for generations to come.
Looking Ahead
We are hoping to hold an Annual General Assembly (AGA) in November, where we can provide the community with updates on the work underway, discuss our progress, and share more about what is ahead for Pabineau.
More information will be shared as plans are finalized, so please stay tuned.
There is a lot happening in our community, and there is still much more work ahead. I am proud of the work being done by Council, our staff, and everyone contributing to Pabineau's continued growth.
Together, we will keep Pabineau moving forward.
Chief Terry Richardson
