Land Use Planning & Projects

Pabineau First Nation is developing a Land Use Plan to help guide how our community lands are used, protected and developed, both today and for future generations.

This planning process is an opportunity to reflect on where we are today, envision where we want to go and identify the priorities that will help shape our community's future.

The Land Use Plan will explore important areas such as housing, community spaces, infrastructure, economic development, recreation, culturally significant areas, environmental stewardship and the protection of our lands.

Community voices are at the heart of this process. Members will have opportunities to share their ideas, priorities and concerns, as well as their hopes for the future of our lands.

Together, we can help create a Land Use Plan that reflects our community's values, respects our connection to the land and supports the needs of present and future generations.

Mapping our Community

Understanding our lands today. Planning for future generations.

As part of Pabineau First Nation's Land Use Planning process, we are using digital mapping tools to bring together important information about our community lands and better understand how different areas are being used today.

How we use mapping?

Bringing Our Community's Knowledge Together

Mapping will help us identify existing housing, infrastructure, natural areas, culturally important places and areas that may need protection. It will also help us explore future housing and development needs, community priorities and opportunities for growth.

By bringing this information together, we can develop a clearer picture of our lands and make more informed decisions about how they are used, protected and developed.

Mapping is an important step toward creating a Land Use Plan that reflects our community's needs, values and vision for the future.
