Glencore Brunswick Smelter Bursary – Deadline Extended to August 31, 2025

Great news for students! The Glencore Brunswick Smelter Bursary deadline has been extended to August 31, 2025.

This $1,000 bursary is open to students from Pabineau First Nation (Oinpegitjoig), Eel River Bar First Nation (Ugpiganjig), and other communities represented by Mi’gmawe’l Tplu’taqnn Inc. The bursary is designed to support those pursuing post-secondary education in science, environment, engineering, or trades.

Eligibility Highlights

Applicants must be:

  • A Band Member of one of the eligible communities.

  • Entering or currently enrolled full-time in a recognized Canadian institution.

  • Able to demonstrate community involvement, academic excellence, leadership, or career goals that contribute positively to society.

How to Apply

  • Submit an application and a short essay about your academic and career goals, including achievements in community, leadership, or academics.

  • Send your application by August 31, 2025 to: brunswicksmelterbursary@glencore.ca

Selection Process

Applications are reviewed by a Bursary Selection Committee, which includes First Nations community members and Brunswick Smelter representatives. Successful applicants will be notified by October 31, 2025, with funds available by November 30, 2025.
