NB Power invites all Oinpegitjoig - Pabineau First Nation residents to join us for a Smart Meter Information Session. This session is designed to answer your questions and provide clear information about what smart meters mean for your home, our community, and the future of the power grid in New Brunswick.

Smart meters are part of NB Powerβs province-wide deployment project, which began in 2023 and is now moving into our region. With installations set to begin in Oinpegitjoig the week of September 9, 2025, this is your chance to hear directly from NB Power representatives, learn the facts, and address any concerns.

Background
NB Power has already completed smart meter installation in other parts of the province, including neighbouring First Nations communities such as Natoagneg and Metepenagiag. With all the information and discussion circulating online, NB Power wants to ensure residents have access to the facts about smart metersβcovering safety, reliability, and how they support greener operations and a smarter energy grid.
