Wabanaki in Motion NB is launching its first 8-week cohort in Fredericton and is currently looking for Indigenous participants aged 16+ who are interested in developing hands-on STEAM skills, exploring new technologies, and connecting learning with culture.
About Wabanaki in Motion
Wabanaki in Motion is a free, hands-on training program delivered through a Mobile Makerspace.
Over eight weeks, participants will have opportunities to explore technologies and skills including:
3D printing
Laser engraving and cutting
CNC machining
Robotics
Coding
Digital design
Drones
Emerging technologies
Workplace readiness and safety
Participants will also have opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications and explore future education and career pathways in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).
No previous technical experience is required.
Learning Rooted in Culture
Alongside technical training, Wabanaki in Motion incorporates cultural programming rooted in the Seven Sacred Teachings, creating a learning environment that brings together technology, culture, community, and career development.
Participants will learn with support from Indigenous facilitators, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, technical experts, and program partners.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Eligibility: Indigenous participants aged 16+
