Pabineau First Nation Community Garden 2025

A Place of Beauty, Wellness, and Connection

At Pabineau First Nation, we are proud of the ongoing success of our Community Garden, a project that has been blossoming for over 10 years. As Carolyn Fraser puts it, “The gardening is going very well,” and we couldn’t agree more!

Our Community Garden is more than just a place to grow vegetables—it's a wellness garden, carefully cultivated to be a space where community members can feel good, enjoy the beauty of nature, and connect with their surroundings.

A Place of Beauty and Wellness

The garden is a sanctuary, filled with a vibrant mix of beautiful flowers and nutritious vegetables. It’s not just about gardening—it’s about creating a space where people can come together, enjoy the outdoors, and take in the sights and smells of nature. As Carolyn explains, “The garden is a wellness garden, a place to feel good from the beauty of all the beautiful flowers and vegetables we grow there.”

Pick, Water, and Relax

One of the best parts of the garden is the opportunity it gives people to engage in simple, joyful activities like picking fresh vegetables to bring home. Whether you’re grabbing a handful of fresh tomatoes, herbs, or zucchini, the garden provides a chance for everyone to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of our collective labor.

The garden also features rain barrels, allowing individuals to water the flowers, nurturing the plants and giving back to the space that gives so much to the community. It’s a simple but meaningful way to stay connected with the earth and help the garden thrive.

A Gathering Place for Families

The gazebo in the heart of the garden is a welcoming spot for families to gather, relax, and enjoy a peaceful picnic. Whether it’s a quiet afternoon with loved ones or a community event, the garden serves as a gathering place where everyone can enjoy good food, good company, and the healing power of nature.

A Decade of Growth and Community Spirit

The Community Garden has been a part of Pabineau First Nation for at least 10 years, and over the years, it has become a cornerstone of community wellness and togetherness. As we continue to cultivate the land, we’re reminded of the importance of growing not just plants, but also strong connections within our community.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to continue this tradition and watch the garden grow, evolve, and thrive for many more years to come. With a focus on wellness, beauty, and connection, the Pabineau First Nation Community Garden is a true reflection of the strength and spirit of our community.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to its success—whether by planting, tending, or simply enjoying the fruits of the garden.
