Rheumatology Services Coming Soon to Pabineau!

Exciting News for Our Community’s Health!
Pabineau First Nation Health Centre is proud to announce that a specialized Rheumatology Medical Service will soon be available right here in our community. This service will provide support for arthritis and other joint, muscle, and bone conditions—without the need for long travel.

We invite you to join us in welcoming Dr. Jean-Philip Deslauriers as he introduces this new service:

Rheumatology Clinic By Dr. Jean Philip Deslauriers

A medical specialty specializing in diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders related to the musculoskeletal system and connective tissues.

Some symptoms assigned to rheumatology may include:

1. Joint pain: Pain, stiffness, or swelling in joints such as hands feet knees hips or spine

2. Arthritis Inflammation of joints which cause pain stiffness & limited mobility

3. Muscle Pain: pain/weakness which can be related to various conditions

4. Back Pain: Pain or stiffness in the neck, back or spine which can be related to conditions like osteoarthritis spondylitis or fibromyalgia

5. Stiffness: Morning stiffness or after rest can be symptoms of inflammatory arthritis

6. Swelling or redness in the joints or soft tissues that can be a sign of inflammation

7. Limited Mobility: reduced range of motion or flexibility in joints, which can impact daily activities

8. Fatigue: Feeling tired or exhausted, which can be a symptom of chronic rheumatic conditions

9. Systemic Symptoms: some rheumatic conditions cause symptoms like fever, weight loss and skin rashes

1. Osteoarthritis: wear and tear of joints, leading to pain and stiffness

2. Rheumatoid arthritis: an auto immune disease that causes inflammation and pain in joints

3. Lupus: Chronic autoimmune disease that can affect multiple organs and tissues

4. Fibromyalgia: a condition characterized by widespread muscle pain and fatigue.

5. Gout: type of arthritis cause by uric acid buildup leading to severe and sudden joint pain

6. Spondylarthritis: group of conditions that affect the spine and joints, as ankylosing spondylitis
