Capital Construction & Community Development Updates
Over the past few years, Pabineau First Nation has made significant progress in improving infrastructure, housing, and community services. These projects are not just about construction—they are about building a stronger, healthier, and more sustainable future for our members.
Key Accomplishments
✅ Housing & Infrastructure
Fixed 17 septic problems this past summer.
Built new homes for our community members.
Renovated 3 homes through the Energy Efficiency Program in partnership with NB Power.
Applied for subdivision and storm water mitigation planning.
Conducted an environmental site assessment on lands past the falls as part of our Addition to Reserve (ATR) process.
Completed surveying and secured funding to review old dump sites in the community.
✅ Community Services & Planning
Developed our Community Comprehensive Plan to guide long-term growth.
Increased awareness around wills and estates in the community.
Secured funding to support homelessness initiatives.
Secured funding to advance the solid waste project, including purchasing new cans, equipment, and creating work for 3 community members.
✅ Capacity Building & Training
Found funding to hire a full-time Lands Manager.
Secured funding to provide hunter education courses for members.
Secured funding to provide driver education opportunities.
✅ Community Safety & Resources
Working with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to explore more water resources for the community.
Installed new signage to designate Pabineau as a 50 km/hr zone throughout the community (coming soon).
