✨ New Service: Energy Healing
We are also honoured to introduce a new wellness offering at the Health Centre: Energy Healing.
What Is Energy Healing?
Energy healing is a gentle approach that supports the body and spirit in returning to balance. It creates a calm, supportive space where the body’s natural healing wisdom can be accessed.
Energy healing is not new. Across cultures and generations, people have always cared for their well-being by tending to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of life.
Understanding Energy Healing as a Broad Practice
Energy healing is a broad term that includes many techniques and culture-specific practices. Reiki is one well-known example originating from Japanese culture. While Reiki has become widely practiced, many Indigenous cultures had — and continue to have — their own traditional healing ways that were disrupted or suppressed through colonization.
The Impacts of Colonization
Colonization interrupted and outlawed many ceremonial and spiritual practices, disconnecting people from ancestral healing systems. Over time, these longstanding practices were often mislabeled as “alternative” or “new age,” despite their deep cultural roots.
Returning to an Intuitive, Ancestral Path
After years of exploring different healing practices, including completing Reiki Level One, the facilitator felt called to return to a more intuitive, ancestral way of working with energy — one guided by spirit and ancestors, and rooted in Mi’kmaq lineage.
This approach allows space for reconnection, remembrance, and authenticity, honouring both ancestral teachings and present-day lived experience.
What Energy Healing Can Support
Energy healing may help you feel:
Calmer and more grounded
Less burdened by stress or emotional heaviness
More balanced and restored
Reconnected to your body and inner guidance
You may benefit if you’re feeling drained, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected — or if you simply wish to nurture your overall well-being.
Offering to Community
Energy Healing sessions are now available to Pabineau community members, both in person and online, and are offered free of charge.
