Opportunity for Indigenous Writers: Audible Indigenous Writers’ Circle
Emerging Indigenous writers across Canada are invited to apply for the Audible Indigenous Writers’ Circle, a six-month mentorship and workshop program designed to support First Nations, Inuit and Métis storytellers.
The program helps elevate Indigenous voices by connecting participants with experienced Indigenous mentors, creative industry professionals, and publishing experts. Through workshops and mentorship, participants will gain valuable guidance to help develop their writing and explore opportunities in the literary and audio storytelling world.
Beginning June 1, 2026, the program will run for six months and provide emerging writers with opportunities to grow their creative practice, strengthen their storytelling skills, and connect with other Indigenous creators.
Participants selected for the program will receive a $1,500 CAD bursary, and there is no cost to participate.
The program welcomes Indigenous writers working in a variety of formats, including:
Fiction and non-fiction
Memoir and autobiography
Poetry
Children’s literature
Blogs and graphic novels
Audiobooks and narrative podcasts
Applicants must self-identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis, be 18 years of age or older, reside in Canada, and submit a sample of their writing or audio storytelling.
