Two Exciting Courses Now Available for Registration: Mi’kmaw Language and Two-Eyed Seeing
Community members are invited to explore two exciting online learning opportunities this fall that celebrate Mi’kmaw language, culture, and ways of knowing.
Walking Together: Two-Eyed Seeing for Educators
Join respected Mi’kmaq Elder and Spiritual Leader Dr. Albert D. Marshall for a four-part online course exploring Etuaptmumk (Two-Eyed Seeing), a guiding principle that encourages us to learn from both Indigenous and Western ways of knowing.
Based on the bilingual English/Mi’kmaw book Walking Together / Menaqaj Pemwije’tulti’k, this interactive series uses storytelling, teachings, and playful learning experiences to explore respectful relationships with each other and the natural world. Sessions will be held online throughout September.

Mi’kmaw Introductory Language Course
Looking to begin or continue your Mi’kmaw language journey? This welcoming introductory course is open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners and is led by Savvy Simon, creator of the #SpeakMikmaq language movement and a passionate advocate for Mi’kmaw language revitalization.
Participants will learn through storytelling, conversation, cultural teachings, music, humour, and interactive activities in a supportive environment designed to help learners build confidence and connection to the language.
Dates: September 15 – November 3, 2026
Format: Online
Cost: Free for Indigenous participants.
These learning opportunities provide a wonderful way to deepen your understanding of Mi’kmaw language, culture, and teachings while learning from respected knowledge holders and educators.
