EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

First Nations Social Development Case Management Community Resource Navigator Contract Position

Duration of contract: 12 months

Estimated Start Date: April 2026

Background:

In September of 2022, the Mi’gmaq and Wolastoqiyik Chiefs of New Brunswick established a new Mi’gmaq and Wolastoqiyik organization to provide social development support services to the Mi’gmaq and Wolastoqiyik communities, including supporting the transition and implementation of social programming reform.

The Mi’gmaq and Wolastoqiyik Social Development Support Lodge office is located in St Mary’s First Nation (Fredericton). This position will divide their time between travel to the 15 First Nations in New Brunswick, the Support Lodge office in Fredericton and working remotely from home.

Community Resource Navigator Position Tasks and Deliverables

  • Plan conference for Fall 2026 to engage with New Brunswick First Nations and service organizations to collect information for the computer-based catalogue (see below).

  • Conduct preliminary research on programs available to New Brunswick First Nation community members.

  • Develop a computer-based (Excel) resource/catalogue of all services that could be relevant to case management participants in New Brunswick First Nations (on-reserve and provincial). These could include programs in the following areas:

    • Employment and Training

    • Health and Wellness

    • Culture/Language

  • Work with CPD Coordinator to develop training/user guide for the computer-based catalogue.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post Secondary education is an asset

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent document management and computer skills

  • Attention to details even under pressure

  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Valid driver’s license and car

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel to First Nations communities within New Brunswick.
