Mi’gmawe'l Tplu'taqnn Incorporated (MTI) Invites You to Share Your Voice on Indigenous Land Stewardship
Mi’gmawe'l Tplu'taqnn Incorporated (MTI) is excited to invite all members of Pabineau First Nation to join us for an important conversation about our work under the Parks Rights Implementation Agreement (RIA) with Parks Canada. This initiative is aimed at advancing Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs), and your participation is essential to help shape the future of land stewardship in our communities.
What’s at Stake?
We’re actively developing land stewardship plans for our Parks, historic sites, and Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs)—land that holds immense cultural, spiritual, and environmental significance. These plans will be grounded in Mi’kmaq values and principles, ensuring that the lands are used, protected, and cared for in ways that align with our traditions and respect the teachings of our ancestors.
Why Your Voice Matters
This event is not just about learning; it’s about shaping the future of our lands and communities. We’re visiting your communities because your voice matters. The knowledge and insights you share will directly influence the development of these stewardship plans. Specifically, we want to hear your thoughts on:
Identifying culturally significant areas
Guiding the management of lands and species
Ensuring the plans reflect what’s most important to our people
Your input is vital to creating stewardship plans that reflect the heart of Mi’kmaq culture and values, ensuring that these lands continue to thrive for generations to come.
