Fire Status Update from Sarah Weatherby - Department of Indigenous Affairs Government of New Brunswick
Good morning!
With improving conditions, the PEAC briefings will be reduced to one a day (10:00am) and will go back to twice a day if conditions worsen. If anything comes up after the morning briefing, I will send out the details. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out and I will assist in getting you answers or solutions.
Fire Update:
-There are currently 10 active fires, with 2 out of control, see below. We are getting there!
Crown lands are open. Burn bans are still in effect for the whole prov.
More new staff have arrived from Ontario to give our crews a break. By end of day, we will have 40 staff members from Ontario.
There are currently 70 staff working the Beaver Lake Stream Fire.

Other information:
Winds will drop back to normal Thursday. We are seeing some showers across the prov. Strongest gusts yesterday were 50km/hr.
Beaver Lake Stream is burning VERY hot; smoke can be seen from space satellites.
Fingers crossed it looks like we are getting rain for the weekend!
