John Henry Paul Jr.

In Memory of John Henry Paul Jr. "Flying Eagle"
December 29, 1946 - July 26, 2005
John was a very humble man who cared deeply for his family and friends.
He was a man known by many names; Chief,
John, Junior, Flying Eagle, Johnny Lone Eagle,
Father, Poppy, Friend, and a respected Elder.
He was honored to serve his country as an Aboriginal Canadian in the Canadian Arm Forces.
He never had to put on heirs to be someone
he wasn't, he knew who he was. He would go from the woods
smelling like a lumberjack, to a suit representing his community,
then to his traditional regalia at cultural events,
and finally to an outfit marked by what he had to eat; but he could
still hold his head high with pride.
He didn't even require a bed or roof over
his head, any back seat in a car or couch was all he needed to rest
his head. John would loan out his last bit of whatever he had
to any one who asked.
He always had time to spend with his family
and friends; personal time was always second to everyone else.
His love was endless when it came to his grandchildren.
He was a very spiritual man with strong beliefs who loved to discuss life's endless teachings.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
"One blade of sweet grass is all there needs to be, as proof of life, therefore Eternity".
