Essential Skills Initiative

Education is the key to opening up the world for our future generations.  We know that the future of our communities will depend on the skills and abilities of our people.  The quality and level of our community's education will affect our economic growth as well as the quality of the social programs our First Nation government can offer.

Success can be reached by forming collaborative partnerships with various levels of governments throughout the Province of New Brunswick.  This initiative is another step towards narrowing the gap between First Nations populations and the general main stream of Canadian society.

The survival and future of our people is in our hands to shape and mold.

Hard Essential Skills are the fundamental skills that make it possible to learn all others.  There are nine Hard Essential Skills identified through extensive research from various government agencies.
