Chief David Peter-Paul's Biography
Hello! My name is David Peter-Paul and I am the Chief of the Pabineau First Nation. I am presently 46 years old and a resident of the Pabineau First Nation community. My fiancée, Rose, and three children, Melanie, Tony, and Olivia, and I are all registered members of the Pabineau First Nation. To those who have not yet heard, Rose and I are expecting another little Mi’gmag on June 30th, 2008.
I have worked for aboriginals of First Nation communities within the Province of New Brunswick in a variety of capacities throughout my career. I am confident that my education, employment history, and personal life experiences will continue to furnish me with the tools required to assist in the social and economic prosperity of the entire Pabineau First Nation community.
As a Chief, it excites me to be able to assist in the social and economic development of other First Nations within the region. Since 2004, I have been appointed by my fellow-Chiefs as the President of "4-Direction Child and Family Services," Vice President of the "Union of New Brunswick Indians," Vice President of the "Union of New Brunswick Indians Charitable Donations Foundation," to the Executive Chiefs Committee of the "Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nation Chiefs," and have been selected to sit on various local, provincial, regional, and national committees. Working in these capacities enables me to impact, in many ways, the day-to-day lives of other First Nation peoples. I thoroughly enjoy working for First Nations throughout Atlantic Canada in these various capacities and take very seriously the responsibilities that accrue to me as a direct result of these appointments.
I am extremely honored and humbled to have been elected to serve the Pabineau First Nation community as your Chief since 2004 and am sincerely looking forward to serving the community throughout the upcoming term of office (2008-2010). Our small First Nation community has leaped forward in many ways over the last 4 years. Pabineau is now recognized as one of the most progressive and well-managed small First Nation communities in Atlantic Canada. I am very proud to work for Pabineau and am excited at the prospect of having the opportunity to actively participate in broadening our social and economic horizons for another 2 years.
If you wish to contact me, please feel free to reach me at the office, my home, my cellular phone, or by email. I sincerely look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Chief David Peter-Paul
