Many First Nations situated in rural areas lack what many Canadians take for granted, like public transportation systems, direct access to government programs and services, business opportunities, and continuing educational institutions. Although the Pabineau First Nation is situated in rural Canada, it has a centrally located Community Access Center that enables its community members to keep in touch with the rest of the world. As more and more educational courses are becoming available online, our Community Access Center has the potential to foster life-long learning, which will empower members as they gain new work and business-related skills.

The Pabineau First Nation Community Access Center offers a friendly and comfortable learning environment where community members, regardless of age, race, or level of education have access to information, computer technology, and network connections year round. By the end of the fiscal year, a number of new computers will be installed at the center, each offering internet access and a number of software programs. The Pabineau First Nation Community Access Center also has the potential to foster inter-generational unity, as our young computer-literate youth can become technology mentors for our elder citizens.
